Papa's Post from Guangzhou
This morning, we thought she might like to try a pacifier, she thought it would be more fun to take them out of her mouth and play with them!!
We are now in Guangzhou at the White Swan Hotel after a short flight from Nanchung.
It was Emma Rae's first flight and we were very nervous about it. As the plane was taxiing down the runway, we were scrambling to fix a bottle for her so she would have something to help clear her ears during takeoff. She drank the whole bottle so quickly we had to refill it with water as we left the ground.
She was great for the entire flight-smiling, laughing, clapping, and making all her little cooing and dadada sounds. She seems to wink with her right eye every time she smiles-I think she is a show off. After we checked into the White Swan and got settled in, she slept the entire night and was ready to go this morning-smiling as I got her out of the crib.
After I changed her diaper (I am getting better) and gave her a bottle, it was more smiles and silly noises. Julie said last night, "Can you believe she is ours?". We are both amazed with her and feel so fortunate that we have her, and she seems to be bonding with us and really opening up to us.
Our next task is to explore Guangzhou together.

Guys-
I am so proud and happy for you! She looks so happy and I get chills when I see her beautiful smile. What a crazy undertaking...to try to do all of this bonding, being new parents and all while out of the country and staying in hotels. You are both so brave! I can't wait to meet her...through all of the pictures I feel like I know her already!
Love,
Wendy
