The Trip Home

Above: Entertaining Emma Rae on the plane.... Below: She is now a U.S. citizen!!! In the air on the way to Atlanta.... Back at home!!!! Thank the Lord!! Thank you to Laura, Dan and Alanna for the gift and balloons on the mailbox!! We had lots of fun stuff from Ami Bishop welcoming us home (decorations, balloons, big cookie, beautiful frame). She stayed at our house while we were gone and watched Howie, Lucie, Bettie and Rudie!! We appreciate it sooooooooooo much Ami!!! You were a God send for us. We missed our pets tremendously but knew they were in great hands!!! Thank you, Thank you!!!! Howie is giving her a kiss!!!

It was a LONG trip home!!! It was a 16 hour flight from Hong Kong to Newark. I couldn't sleep at all, Dawson maybe slept about 2 hours and Emma Rae only slept 3 hours!! We had a 3 hour layover in Newark then landed in Atlanta around 8:30 Friday night. Emma Rae became a citizen of the U.S. when we turned in her paperwork at Customs and Immigration in Newark. Yeah!!! Mom and Charlie picked us up from the airport in Atlanta. They greeted us with a welcome home sign and some flowers. We felt like train wrecks but were so excited to see them!!! I love the United States!! We got home around 10:00 P.M. and had to go through the introduction process with the animals. I think we finally got her to go to sleep at midnight. She was so over-tired and was fighting sleep. We are trying hard to adjust to this time change!!!
